Join Nick Pearson for an informal, jargon-free, slide-lecture preview of its collection of 19th-century Realism, Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, from names like Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and others. Thoroughly spoil yourself with this feast of great French early modern art and paintings from the best permanent collection of this period outside of Paris! Courtauld Gallery is now open for viewing again, following the closure for some years for major renovation work on the building in Somerset House.

Nick Pearson is an internationally exhibited contemporary visual artist, an enthusiastic studio tutor and art history lecturer with a passion for art of all periods. He has taught at various levels in schools, further and higher-education colleges, universities and adult-learning centres (including London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA); Richmond Art School; University of Oxford; Northampton University; Knowsley Hey Arts College, Merseyside; and Bradford College of Art). He works from a studio in west London, where he makes sculpture, drawings, collages and sometimes takes and plays around with photographs.

He is currently a director of OPEN Ealing, an arts centre he helped set up in 2011. As its first Artistic Director, he ran a successful programme of classes, workshops, exhibitions and performances. www.instagram.com/nickpearson60
